A busy week for Norwich City loanee Marcel Franke, currently on loan at 2 Bundesliga side SV Darmdstadt 98, as he returned to face the club he was on loan at last season, Dynamo Dresden. Franke played the full 90 minutes but won’t be looking back at the fixture fondly with Darmstadt losing 4-1.

Franke was in action again on Tuesday evening as Darmstadt faced Arminia Bielefeld, the match finished 2-1 to Arminia, Franke having played the full 90.

Elsewhere on the continent, Greek youngster, Savvas Mourgos was in action for Dutch Jupiler League side, FC Dordrecht, in what was his 6th appearance for the club during his loan spell. Mourgos got 72 minutes under his belt before being substituted.

Dordrecht also participated in a mid-week KNVB Cup fixture, Mourgos featuring as an unused substitute.

In Scotland, Steven Naismith played the full 90 minutes for Hearts, picking up a yellow card and missing a penalty, in their 0-0 draw with Livingston, the latter now managed by ex-Norwich City midfielder, Gary Holt.

Naismith made up for his missed penalty at the weekend by helping Hearts to a 4-2 win against Motherwell, in the Scottish League Cup quarter-final, Naismith grabbing Hearts’ 4th goal in second-half stoppage time.

City youngster, Daillang Jaiyesimi, currently on loan at EFL League Two outfit, Yeovil Town, played 56 minutes during the Glovers 3-0 loss to Swindon Town at the weekend.

Jaiyesimi was substituted even earlier mid-week, lasting just 23 minutes before being replaced, in Yeovil’s home meeting with MK Dons, the game finished 1-1.

Elsewhere, Yanic Wildschut was used as an 87th minute substitute for Bolton in their 0-0 clash with Championship strugglers, Ipswich Town. Remi Matthews, also on loan at Bolton remained on the bench at Portman Road.

Finally, young striker Tristan Abrahams completed 90 minutes for loan side Exeter City on Tuesday evening, as they ran out 2-0 winners against West Ham u23s in the Football League Trophy.

Further City loanees, James Husband (Fleetwood), Mason Bloomfield (Hamilton) and Sean Raggett (Rotherham) failed to make an appearance during this particular game week, with Raggett still side-lined due to injury.
