Norwich City loanee, Remi Matthews enjoyed a winning league debut for loan club Bolton Wanderers, keeping a clean sheet in Wanderers’ 1-0 victory over Derby County.

Matthews kept his place in the Trotter’s starting eleven for Tuesday evenings trip to Stoke City but, was unable to prevent Stoke City’s dominance, Stoke eventually running out 2-0 winners, Matthews letting one in at his near post in the process.

Matthews will sign for Bolton Wanderers on a permanent deal in January on a free transfer.

Bolton team-mate and fellow City loanee, Yanic Wildschut had a less remarkable week, featuring for just 30 minutes off the bench during the Trotter’s loss to Stoke.

Marcel Franke and his SV Darmstadt teammates suffered another heavy defeat, this time to Holstein Kiel who won 4-2 despite going down to ten men around the 50-minute mark. Franke is a regular feature in Darmstadt’s recently leaky defence, shipping 10 goals in the last 3 games.

Up in Scotland, Steven Naismith was part of the Hearts team that beat St. Johnstone 2-1 but, was unable to add to his 6 goal tally so far this term, as Hearts remain top of the Scottish Premiership.

Elsewhere, a rather quiet week if truth be told, Mason Bloomfield (Hamilton), Tristan Abrahams (Exeter), Daillang Jaiyesimi (Yeovil) and Sean Raggett (Rotherham) all failed to make appearances during this game week. Raggettis of course, still injured.
